Ceramics
In ceramic works, Koshelev continues his exploration of myth and memory, shaping a cast of enigmatic figures that seem unearthed from a forgotten ritual past. Rendered in expressive surfaces and muted glazes, these sculptural forms recall ancient votive objects, theatrical masks, and fragments of archaeological relics.
His characters — part beast, part human, part dream — extend the narrative world of his paintings into three dimensions, inhabiting a space between artefact and apparition. As with his drawings and canvases, Koshelev’s ceramics channel the atmosphere of fin de siècle mysticism and the symbolism of lost civilisations.
