Pavilion of the Sea
Malta Biennale, Malta
2024
As part of the Malta Biennale 2024, held under the patronage of the President of Malta, the Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform presents the Sea Pavilion — Tales of the Sea. Curated by Ali Hassanzadeh, produced by Samir Belasri, and featuring artist Nikolay Koshelev, the exhibition invites visitors into a sensory and layered journey through maritime myths, stories, and contemporary environmental reflections.
Set within the historic Fort St Angelo in Birgu, Tales of the Sea opens with a striking painting of a multidimensional mainsail, where blurred tones and the shadowy figure of Venus evoke Malta’s mythological depths. The narrative unfolds through a collaborative boat sculpture — a symbol of collective movement and present-day realities — and concludes with an intimate ceramic piece that reflects the artist’s personal connection to the island’s natural landscapes and shores.
